Education
I hold board certifications in both Child/Adolescent Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry. I graduated from the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute in 2006 with a 2-year specialty fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I was a co-chief fellow during my fellowship at UCLA, and held specific interests in pediatric mood and anxiety disorders as well as ADHD. I completed my Adult Psychiatry residency in 2004 at Northwestern University in downtown Chicago, again with a special interest in mood and anxiety disorders.
Previously, I had graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and was in the Campus Honors Program during my undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois.
Practice History
I have been a practicing psychiatrist since 2002. Following completion of my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at UCLA, I was an attending psychiatrist at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills, where I was the Medical Director of the Pediatric Mood and Anxiety Disorders Clinic, the medical director of the ADHD clinic, and the pediatric Consult/Liaison Service director. I then went on to thrive in an 8-year private practice in the Westwood/Beverly Hills area of Los Angeles, serving patients with a diverse range of diagnoses and challenges. During my time in Los Angeles, I served as the consulting psychiatrist for many eating disorder residential treatment centers and partial hospitalization programs.
Upon moving to the Boulder area in 2013, I became the Unit Director of Inpatient Adolescent Services at Centennial Peaks Hospital, a position which I cherished for its ability to intervene with adolescents at a critical period in their lives. However, I missed seeing a wide range of ages in my work, and missed the long-term relationships formed in outpatient practice. Thus, I moved back into private practice in January 2017.
I live in the Boulder area and have two school-aged daughters. I regularly volunteer at their schools and am active in the community. I enjoy hiking, running, and spending time with my children.
